* Parent Group Meeting

The Director and some key staff meet every 6 weeks with parents. This is a time to share ideas, gain important information about the centre and current topics of interest to families. Afternoon tea is provided!

* Mum’s Night Out!

We try to organise a get together with our families at least once a quarter! Our first night out will be a mum’s night out in February. Mum’s are encouraged to come along and met other mum’s and members of our team! There will be games and prizes to be won.

 * Parent Information Nights!

Each room organised a parent meet and greet which were held early in February. This was a great opportunity where educators could let parents know what to expect this year in the room, ie, the room goals, the routine and where to find things etc. This was also a time for parents within each room to get to know each other! Afternoon tea was provided.

We aim to offer a welcoming, homelike environment that is stimulating, nurturing and aesthetically pleasing. One of the critically important components of our good practice is that parents and educators become partners in the process of working with each child. We will ensure quality learning outcomes and provide positive guidance as they grow.

Allenstown Childcare has a team of educators committed to continuous professional development of their personal qualifications and skills. We actively work as a team to provide the highest quality of care constantly seeking to enhance each child’s physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Team members are encouraged to obtain experience in all age groups with a view to developing their skills.

The team is led by Sandii Monaghan who has been the Director for over two years and who has also been part of the Allenstown team for over eight years. Sandii is committed to providing excellent care for each individual child in conjunction with a dedicated, caring team of professionals. Renee holds the position of Managing Director, she was previously the Director of our other centre Frenchville Childcare for eight years before taking on this newly created role in April 2011. She overseas both of our Rockhampton centres (Allenstown and Frenchville Childcare).

Philosophy

Allenstown Childcare philosophy revolves around our belief that ‘Your Child is Our Focus’. Our Centre philosophy has been developed after extensive consultation among our professional team of carers and can be viewed in the foyer. We endeavour to accept and respect each child as an individual and we will nurture the health, well-being and developmental skills of each child according to their individuality. Our programmes reflect cultural and social equity so children are provided with a diverse range of experiences.

Our centre is specifically designed, privately owned and is located on the southside of Rockhampton in a quiet, safe side street away from the hustle and bustle. The owner-operator has had more than thirteen years of experience in providing high quality and superior Child Care services and continually monitors centre standards.

The Centre is licensed and approved by the Department of Family Services and thoroughly caters for the needs of young children. It enjoys an excellent reputation for quality care and complies with the latest Queensland Child Care Regulations and is accredited through the National Childcare Accreditation Council.
